
Al-Taj News – The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army are participating in the Eager Lion 2026 exercise, which kicked off today, Tuesday, in the U.S. state of Colorado, in cooperation with the U.S. Central Command, as part of military cooperation and coordination between the two countries.
The Jordanian Military Attaché in the United States emphasized the importance of the Jordanian Armed Forces’ participation in the exercise, as it contributes to strengthening military cooperation with the U.S. Armed Forces, developing operational capabilities, enhancing readiness levels, and exchanging expertise through joint training and planning, thereby enhancing the ability to conduct joint operations efficiently and effectively.
For his part, the Deputy Director of Plans and Policies at the U.S. Central Command noted that conducting the exercise in a complex operational environment reflects the level of cooperation and coordination among the participating forces, pointing to the importance of the Jordanian-U.S. military partnership in supporting regional security and stability, developing joint operational capabilities, and addressing various challenges and threats.
The exercise will continue for two weeks and includes a range of joint drills and activities in the fields of counterterrorism, air defense, maritime security, cybersecurity, and disaster and crisis response, with the aim of enhancing readiness and operational efficiency, strengthening coordination and integration, and developing the planning and response skills of the participating forces.
Eager Lion 2026 is the twelfth edition of the exercise and comes as an extension of the joint training programs between the Jordanian Armed Forces and the U.S. Central Command, contributing to the exchange of expertise and enhancing the ability to carry out joint missions and operations.
